The 25th Liaison Squadron of the 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group, was primarily equipped with L-5 Sentinels, but their aircraft included a few L-4 Cubs (mostly borrowed) and one or two UC-61 and UC-78 utility aircraft at various times, and a single C-47 at the very end of the war. During the Philippines campaign, in March 1945, the 25th Liaison Squadron was transferred to the Thirteenth Air Force. Their primary mission was courier service, search and rescue work and, in the Philippines it was medical evacuations.
