LOCATION - 267 kms south of Perth WA, between Manjimup and Donnybrook.

 

DATES - 29th October 1943 - 23rd May 1946

 

STRENGTH
Commenced with 100 Italian POWs, 4th May 1944 increased to 148, 22nd February 1945 increased to 200,

3rd May 1945 decreased to 175 (25 transferred to Jarrahdale work camp)

 

No of FARMS ASSISTED - Maximum 137 in Feb 1945

ADDRESS - No 19 Steere Street, Bridgetown

 

PREVIOUS STATUS - Built in the 1890’s as a Municipal Administration Centre. Later in 1930 it became the town library but this was soon moved to larger premises and left vacant until 1943 when it was occupied by the Army. 

 

CURRENT STATUS - Building still standing and unchanged since the war years, now occupied by a Chiropractic doctor
