LOCATION - 20 kms off the coast of WA from the port of Fremantle

 

DATES - July 1944-March 1946

 

CAPACITY - 120 Italian POWs

 

No OF COMPOUNDS - 1 General purpose camp, ex No 10 Garrison Battalion camp known as the Airfield Camp

 

O.C.
Capt KE Selsmark, 
Lt FG Pearse and 
Lt Scott (dates unclear)

 

2IC/ADJUTANT - Various appointments as required

 

GUARDS - Detachments from No 8 POW Guard Company

 

CAMP FUNCTIONS - Remove defensive structures built to repel anticipated Japanese invasion in 1942, also restore island to pre war condition

 

CURRENT STATUS - Some foundations remain adjacent to the runway
