Hi Peter,
Thank you for the information on Huxtable. Sorry it has taken me a while to reply.
We knew he came to Australia to visit his sister in-law but to our knowledge he never married her. His brother name was Redvers & I see one of the children was named after him. I have a copy of his marriage certificate to Selina Hymus (my Grandmother) - they were married in Melbourne 23/5/1907.
He died in 1913 at Woodman's Point (near Rockingham) after being thrown from a Horse & cart with which he had been collecting supplies from Fremantle. A keg may have well rolled on him but my mother was always told that her father hit his head on a rock.
The hotel he built & was Publican of, was the Naval Base in Rockingham. We know very little about his English family only:-
Mother - Harriet Forrest Huxtable
Father- ? Perrin Huxtable (Butcher)
Regards
Pat Brady
Can anyone help me with more information?
