On 3 April 1944, RAAF Beaufort, A9-202 of 13 ARD RAAF, crash landed 27 miles west of Texas, in southern Queensland after an engine failure. The crew were as follows:-

Squadron Leader Rayson [ Pilot
Pilot Officer Jamison - Navigator
Flying Officer Barry-Brown (400248) - W/T Operator

Passengers were as follows:-

Flying Officer R.J. Graves
Flying Officer I.H. Julien
Flight Sergeant W. Fay
Sergeant K. Getke

NOTE:- The above information was passed on to me by Ross McNeill (RossMcN@aol.com) of Worcestershire, UK, who is a  researcher specialising in sea losses of Allied aircraft 1939-45.  His Beaufort data comes from the RAF 800 movement cards held at the RAF Museum, Hendon. Ross spent a few months transcribing the info in about 1997.

I also received information on this crash from a list of aircraft crashes compiled by Bruce Stewart from a series of books called "Aircraft in Australian Service" by Stewart Wilson.

I initially had the date for this crash as 5 April 1944 but have now changed it to 3 April 1944 based on the yellow "Aircraft Accident Data" card.
