CRASH OF A B-17 FLYING FORTRESS
AT BATCHELOR AIRFIELD, NT

ON 28 JANUARY 1942

This is believed to be B-17 Flying Fortress #40-3067 at Archerfield airfield

 

On 28 January 1942, a USAAF B-17 Flying Fortress #40-3067, piloted by Lieutenant Teats crashed on take off at Batchelor airfield in the Northern Territory. It was damaged beyond repair.
