I'm doing a book (or trying to, that is), which will be mainly photographic, of 1940's to -mid 1960's airlines and airliners. I have a photograph of a Canadian Pacific Airlines Lockheed 18-50 Lodestar CF-CPB in camouflaged markings. It is c/n 2179 ex LT9-28 of NEI Air Forces.
Question: Were these later LT9- series ever delivered to the NEI or were they diverted directly to civil operators after the fall? What do you know about them? I suspect the three that escaped to Brisbane in 1942 were probably LT9-22,23 and 24. By the way, where are you? I used to live in Melbourne in the 1940's and 50's. Hence have many photos of VH- stuff of that era.
