Photo of Victory Hotel taken from Edward Street. The Exchange Hotel is on the other corner on the left of the photo.
A fire broke out in the basement of the Victory Hotel at about 2:30am on the 27 July 2008 and quickly spread to the ground and upper floor. Hundreds of people were evacuated from the hotel and seven people were hospitalised. The inside of the building was almost totally destroyed but the outside is still intact and there may be a chance the building can be saved.
Can anyone help me with more information?
