Camp Oxley at Blunder Road, Oxley was located on 122 acres on half of Portion 357, County of Stanley, Parish of Yeerongpilly (or Oxley). Army Hirings Service carried out an inspection of the property on 7 August 1942. Rent was set at 10 Pounds per annum. The owner Mr. James Henry Delbridge had been using the portion required by Army Hirings for dairying purposes but he had made other arrangements for agisting his stock.
It was acquired from James Henry Delbridge by the Army Hirings Service under Regulation 54 of the National Security (General) Regulations dated 18 September 1942 for use as a camp site for the US Army's 28th Chemical Company. It was able to accommodate 270 USASOS Ordnance personnel.

The 577th Ordnance Ammunition Company left the Kangaroo Ordnance Depot north of Townsville on 5 October 1943 and travelled to Brisbane by train, arriving there on 7 October 1943. They moved into Camp Oxley and resumed work at the Darra Ordnance Ammunition Depot.
Camp Oxley, the USASOS Camp at Blunder Road, Oxley, was inspected on 27 November 1944, as part of the process of completing a Marching Out Certificate for the camp to be vacated by USASOS and occupied by the Australian Military Forces. Only "Minor damage & depreciation through normal weathering" was found and all fire fighting appliances had been removed. Electrical wiring had been pulled away in some buildings. Buildings were removed and re-erected elsewhere. And buildings or stores that could not be used elsewhere were offered for disposal to the Commonwealth Disposals Commission.
