BELGIAN GARDENS, TOWNSVILLE, QLD
IN AUSTRALIA
DURING WWII
The Allied Works Council had a Depot at Belgian Gardens in Townsville, located immediately to the west of Jimmy's Lookout which is located beside the Belgian Gardens Cemetery.
Battery Headquarters for the 16th Australian Heavy Anti-aircraft Battery was established on the western side of Jimmy's Lookout adjacent to the AWC Depot during WWII .
