"G" for George arrived in Townsville at 12.45 pm on Saturday 14 April 1945. It had left Rockhampton at 10.00 am that morning. It took a number of passengers for joy rides around Townsville from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Records show that an engine cylinder block was changed while they were in Townsville. Keith Ower thought that they may have even changed two of its engines possibly while they were in Townsville.
