Hello,

I was a crew member, enlisted bombardier, on B-26 # 1424 in 1942. Following the battle of Midway when four of our groups aircraft participated, two were shot down and two inflicted damage on enemy carriers the Air Corps decided to equip additional aircraft with torpedo carring capabiity. We lacked training and were sent to the RAAF station in Nowra for that training. Flights of four aircraft were selected from each squadron. I was a memberr of the 2nd Bombardment squadron. After about three weeks ot training we returne to Reid River, Queensland, our home base.

After all these years I remain friends with Andrew and Allison Walton, from "Lynburn" at Nowra in NSW. I was looking for their phone number when I came upon your request. Could you please obtain their phone number from the book and send it to me as I plan to call them sometime during the holiday season. Many Thanks if I can be of any additional help let me know.
