17TH FIELD REGIMENT - HQ 5TH DIVISION
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII

The 17th Field Regiment were based at Aitkenvale in Townsville during May 1942.

In June 1942, the 57th Battery of the 17th Field Regiment were located in the Rollingstone Creek area north of Townsville. A few of the men based at Rollingstone Creek were Lt. William James Cameron, Neil Oveson, Jim Blaney, and Kev Wright (the Unit's photographer).
